Accessibility

What we are aiming for

We target WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This site was built to that standard rather than retrofitted, and we would rather state our known gaps than claim full conformance.

What is built in

• Semantic HTML with proper landmarks and one <h1> per page.
• A skip link to the main content.
• Every interactive control reachable and operable by keyboard, including the navigation menus (Enter/Space to open, Escape to close, Tab to leave) and the accordions.
• Visible focus indicators throughout — never removed.
• Text contrast meeting AA on both the light and dark appearance; the accent colour measures 7.8:1 on the light ground and 7.1:1 on the dark.
• Form fields with real labels, error messages tied to their field, and a status region that announces changes.
• Content that reflows to 320px without horizontal scrolling, and remains usable at 200% zoom.
• The mobile menu traps focus while it is open, returns focus to the button that opened it, and takes the page behind it out of the accessibility tree.
• Changing the display currency on the pricing page is announced, because it silently rewrites 126 prices.
• Lists keep their semantics even where the bullet is removed visually.
• prefers-reduced-motion honoured — all parallax, tilt, drawing and looping animation is switched off, not merely shortened.
• No content conveyed by colour alone.
• Nothing depends on scripting to be readable: if JavaScript fails, no content is hidden.

Known limitations

Stated plainly rather than omitted:

• The technical diagrams carry a text description, but a complex diagram is inherently harder to convey than prose. Where a diagram is essential, the surrounding text repeats the point in words.
• On very narrow screens the wider diagrams scroll horizontally within their own frame. This is a deliberate trade against shrinking them past legibility.
• The site has been tested with keyboard navigation, zoom and reduced-motion settings, and against automated checks. It has not yet had a full audit with users of assistive technology — so there may be barriers we have not found.
• The scrolling capability ticker on the home page pauses on hover and is switched off entirely under reduced-motion, but it cannot yet be paused from the keyboard alone.
